Sometimes the water contains heavy amounts of minerals and iron particles. When they pass through the pipes and drains, they form a deposition over time.


Using the Right Tools for the Clog

  1. For removing fats oils and grease

To unclog your blocked drains and pipes due to fats, oils, and grease you can use caustic soda. Caustic soda is basic and it can clean out the fatty deposits and grease stains from inside the pipes. It is a very simple method. All you have to do is put a few drops of caustic soda in water and mix it well and gently pour it into the mouth of the pipe or drain.

  1. For removing food particles

A plunger is the right tool if you have pipes blocked due to food particles being stuck inside the pipes. The plunger creates a vacuum and as a result of which the food particles stuck inside the pipes get blown away.

  1. For removing soap scum

You can use mild acids in your home such as vinegar to clean soap scums. Add a few drops of vinegar into a mug of water and mix it well. And then pour it over the blocked drains and pipes. This will clean them instantly.

  1. For removing mineral deposits

These deposits are harder to remove. If you don't want to open the pipes and clean them then you can use diluted hydrochloric acid which is available in a chemist shop and then pour it directly into the pipes. It will almost clean them instantly.
